Catching Up in Xiaoshan- June 26th

Day 29 – June 26th
Slept for like 15 hours today. I feel much better. Ate some cereal and skyped with Karen and Grey. It’s always so good to hear from family and friends. Wow I miss everyone so much.
Started typing up the blurbs that Jason wants from us. I have yet to figure out something funny for myself. Got this so far:
1.) Taking a break from kicking butt and taking names as a part of the Street Fighters club in Amherst, also known as the Amherst Mixed Martial Arts Organization (AMMO), Kim has decided to take her fighting prowess to China in the hopes of being able to challenge Jackie Chan and research how to develop her own balanced fighting style. Considering her well traveled past to Europe, Australia, and South Korea, she has also decided to take on the eating challenge of trying everything at street food stands, pointing without caution to dishes on the menus in side shops, and asking what’s the servers’ favorite meals. Will Kim end up with a bruised ego and a stomachache or finally get her butt handed to her in China? The world will know soon.
Sounds silly. Maybe not silly enough.
Studying Psychology by day and kicking butt with her crazy martial arts skills by night,  it is a truly terrifying mix that has created Kimdolion! Or Kim for short.  Taking a break from kicking butt and taking names as a part of the Amherst Mixed Martial Arts club daily workout sounded like an impossibility to Kim until she was offered the chance to take her fighting prowess and
1.) One part ferocious jungle cat, another part Psychology major, and one part; more like a large half, curly hair are what make up the terrifying Kimdolion, also known as Kim. Using her power of maintaining a mane of frizzy and huge hair, she is able to catch the attention of many a person who are left questioning what they may have just seen. After putting the masses of the US, Australia, Europe, and South Korea into a frenzy of confusion, Kim has decided to venture into new areas, this time Hangzhou, China. Have no fear for the often spotted Kimdolion is not at all a threat; her main diet consists of trying anything the locals eat and fruit. Aside from being a well traveled world wonder herself, Kim is unbelieveably excited to teach her crazy hair ways to the best and brightest of Hangzhou.

2.) Kim is from Fairborn, Ohio and is a junior at Amherst College. She currently studies Psychology as her declared major but is also looking into Black studies as a potential double major. She actively participates in the Amherst Mixed Martial Arts Organization (AMMO) and is currently a blue belt in the Isshinryu style. Kim is on this adventure in China due to her love of traveling and experiencing new cultures.
Examples provided:
1) short but descriptive, and funny, blurb (be as creative as you'd like). You can find some examples from last year's students here: http://www.china-amherst.com/en/fellows/2010-fellows/
2) short but less funny blurb that includes details on: your hometown, your major, your academic & extracurricular interests, and why you're in China.
Please send me a photo and 2 blurbs before Monday, June 20th.
Here are two examples:
1) Though his degree says "Computer Science", all Bob really learned at college is a few years of Chinese and how to juggle. Besides looking forward to working with the best and brightest young minds in Hangzhou, Bob loves the gastronomical side of life in China: as a Kentuckian in China he traveled from the land of Colonel Sanders to the land of General Tso, two high-ranking officers in the Army of Delicious Chicken. This year has been the first time he's been in a place whose global opposite is not in the middle of an ocean, allowing him a rare and potentially life-changing opportunity to coordinate simultaneous bread placement with someone in northwestern Argentina thereby making an Earth Sandwich.
2) Bob is from Louisville, Kentucky and is a junior at Amherst College. He majors in Computer Science and enjoys English and Biology. He's active in student government and plays on the school's rugby team. He's excited to be in China because he loves Chinese food and traveling.

Hey Jason,
I was a little worried I'd have to time travel to be quite honest.

I had more but I erased them by accident.
